Text 4 Baby Indiana

FREE Mobile Information

Becoming a new mom is an exciting time that brings many questions about what’s best for mothers and their growing babies. Thanks to the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition there is a new, convenient way for mothers to get information. Text4baby is a FREE mobile information service designed to encourage prenatal and infant health. Women may sign up for the service by texting the word “BABY” to 511411. Subscribers will receive 3 short text messages per week, tailored to either their stage of pregnancy or their baby’s birth date. The messages focus on topics that are critical to maternal and child health including: nutrition, immunization, birth defect prevention, labor and delivery, mental and oral health, developmental milestones, car seat safety, breastfeeding, and safe sleep.
According to the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition, more than 500,000 babies are born prematurely in the U.S. each year and an estimated 28,000 children die before their first birthday. Additionally, the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning’s Reach and Risk Report recognizes low birth weight as one of several risk factors that can affect children’s future school success.
Thanks to the support of CTIA - The Wireless Foundation and participating mobile operators, all messages you receive from text4baby could be free! Even individuals without a text messaging plan can get these messages for free. If someone has limited texts per month, text4baby won’t take away from that limit.
